Our new Ogre melodeon has been designed as a lightweight travel or morris box. these are in D/G with a choice of accidentals of low notes depending upon your requirements. In designing this we have considered the minimum layout to provide maximum repertoire for the UK folk scene including full 8 bass with thirdless chords. With the exception of the reed plates and buttons the Ogre is entirely hand made in our Cornwall workshop
The body of the Ogre is made from reclaimed Honduran or African mahogany far superior to anything available today. reeds are Tipo a Mano, bellows are made by us on site.
With a weight of 1.25 Kg and dimensions of 270mm X 150mm X 120mm the Ogre is the ideal companion when travelling
Our whole ethos at OG Accordions is that you should have the box that you want so we can customise most aspects of the Ogre, if you have a specific make of reeds, a type of wood for the body or specific colours for the bellows or a matching wooden carry case these can all be accommodated as customisations.
