Description
This is a lovely Hohner Club Modell IV R in Bb/Eb
This is the rare LMM Model with a switch to allow you to play MM or LMM
These old Hohner Clubs are in a class of their own with an incredibly rich sound, they were built with the best quality materials and to buy a box of this standard today would cost thousands. This is in the nice low key of Bb Eb, IMHO a nicer key than the more common C/F
The sound of this box is fantastic with top quality zinc reedplates throughout.
These quality Clubs have a shared bass reed system which gives a truly awesome 4 octave Bass end. The 23+7 treble end is three voice. These high quality Hohners have all reedplates fixed with screws/nails on a leather gasket.
It baffles me why these are so undervalued when they are just so good!
The case is in very good condition with just two small screw holes where a mic was fitted (plugged)
Bellows are exceptionally good, very air tight and very supple
The box is in pretty good tune and can be played immediately. This is in original club tuning but we can supply it de-clubbed treble side at no extra cost.
We can quote to de-club the Bass side at additional cost
Work we have carried out on this box :-
- We have removed all of the reeds and re-valved them with modern valves
- We have lightly tuned any reeds which were out.
