Description
DG Melodeon
This is an unusual Hohner Club Modell 1 Piccoletta in D/G. Tuned at A=440 pitch, tremolo at around 2.8Hz at A 440 this is in the G scale layout so can be considered a 4th button start (except that the home keys are on the third button….get it?)
The 19 + 4 layout gives the best of both worlds. this is the same layout as a standard G scale two row but the accidentals which are normally. way up at the chin end, instead are on the half row in the place you want them, so no pulling tendons trying to hit that G#
The Piccoletta has four accidentals rather than the standard 2. The modell 1 in my opinion is one of the nicest small Hohners ever made, and along with the Erika these make great conversions.
We have completely stripped this one down, and everything has been done to make this a great playing box. This is a conversion using original Hohner zinc plate H type CF reeds. to see how we do this have a look at out conversion page here. We aim to restore a box so that it keeps it’s character but plays as well as it can
